The Challenge

The National Center for Explosives Training and Research (NCETR) is a premier facility that brings together the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) essential explosives and fire programs. Offering top-tier training resources and expert staff dedicated to providing life-saving education in explosives and arson. The challenge: modernizing 25 classrooms and a broadcast facility with advanced AV systems that would support high-stakes training.

The Solution

Mode:Green was brought in to lead the design and implementation of a fully integrated AV network across the NCETR campus. This included a comprehensive system design, custom Crestron programming, and installation of advanced audiovisual systems throughout 25 classrooms and a dedicated broadcast facility.

Each space was tailored to meet the rigorous demands of NCETR’s training environment, with crystal-clear audio, high-resolution video, and reliable system performance forming the foundation of the installation. Mode:Green engineered control interfaces that were simple for instructors to use, allowing seamless operation of presentations, video playback, and live-streamed content, all within a secure and technically complex federal environment.

The broadcast facility was designed for versatility, supporting both live instruction and recorded content, with switching, routing, and control systems that allow for real-time adaptability during critical training sessions. NCETR now operates with a future-ready AV infrastructure that enhances the quality, consistency, and reach of its training programs. Mode:Green’s solutions empower staff with intuitive technology that minimizes downtime and maximizes instructional impact.
